Notice to National Community Members in the Republic of Indonesia

The Embassy of the People's Democratic Republic of #Algeria in Jakarta informs members of the national community residing in the Republic of Indonesia that it is closely monitoring developments related to the volcanic activity of the #Anak #Krakatau volcano and the resulting spread of volcanic ash in a number of areas.

In light of the warnings and statements issued by competent Indonesian authorities, and out of concern for the safety of citizens and their families, the Embassy urges everyone to exercise the utmost caution and adhere strictly to official instructions and guidelines, especially in areas affected by or close to volcanic ash trails.

The Embassy also urges citizens to observe the following guidelines:

Avoid going out and outdoor activities in areas affected by volcanic ash unless absolutely necessary.

Use appropriate personal protective equipment, most importantly protective masks, in the event of an urgent need to go out.

Keep doors and windows closed if volcanic ash reaches the area, and avoid inhaling or getting it into the eyes.

Follow official statements and reports issued by Indonesian authorities regarding volcanic activity, weather conditions, and air and road traffic.

Comply immediately with any instructions, precautionary measures, or evacuation orders issued by competent local authorities.

Exercise extreme caution when traveling, especially in areas experiencing reduced visibility or a decline in air quality due to the spread of ash.

Visit the nearest health center immediately if you experience any unusual symptoms, particularly breathing difficulties or severe eye irritation.

For Algerians currently staying in Indonesia on a temporary basis (tourism, business, etc.), they are kindly requested to contact travel agencies and airlines regarding return flights.
